(Expressing Intention) 

On 11th october 2019. Group 1 presented the result of their discussion about expressing intention.

Definition expressing intention

Expressing Intention is an expression of hope from someone. This means that the expression is indirectly an event that has hot yet happened because it is still a from of hope. Tenses used are tenses future.

Social function : 
To State plans or something intended to do in the future.
~ I would like to...
~ I will....
~ I am going to...
~ I would rather

Examples of expressing intention :
~ I would like to tell about my family
~ I will visit museum today
~ I am going to introduce my friend
~ I would rather stay at home than go fishing

To express willingness : use will
(+) subject + will + V1+ O/C
(-) Subject  + will not + O/C
(?)  Will + subject + V1 + O/C

To express a prior plan : 
Use only be going to
(+) S + Be going to + V1 + O/C
(- ) S + Be not going yo + V1 + O/C
(? ) Be + S + going to + V1 + O/C

Example Dialog expressing Intenttion :
Yuli  : Hello Dika ,what are you going to do               this weekend?
Dika : Hello, I am going to visit my  .                           grandmother in Jakarta. How about               you?
Yuli  : Well, I still do not have any plan for  .             the weekend
Dika : Why don't you go to museum?
Yuli  : That is a good idea. But, I have to do                my assignment first. Have you done                your assignment?
Dika : No, I have not. I'd like to do them this              evening

Then after the material is given, there are a few questions about going to, would like to, will and would rathel. Some students answer by raising their hands and standing.
